In the summer of 2021, I got to make my first business trip in almost 2 years as I traveled to interview multiple Senior Star associates at the Wexford Place Senior Living Community in Kansas City, MO. This was my first time actually getting to sit down and talk with the people who maintained the communities and took care of the residents which gave me a mixture of excitement as well as a little anxiety. I hadn’t done my filming setup in a long time and was a little rusty due to the pandemic. None the less, I was overjoyed at what I was able to accomplish along with the help of one of my colleagues.

On average, most people are fairly talkative when you start rolling the camera and asking questions, although I’ve found the more reserved and less outgoing people are the ones who have the most to say. This proved to be the case with several of the people we interviewed in that I had to work with them a bit and help encourage them to speak more freely. I’ve found that if you can convince them to talk as if the camera isn’t there and they’re just telling you about themselves and what they do as if you were sitting across from them in a coffee shop, the better quality of content you’re going to have to work with later on.
